I need your help!

As mentioned in my last update I'm doing a fundraiser on 6-Feb. Fundraisers for previous expeditions generally involved eating, chatting and chilling. This one's slightly different and is a chance to do some exercise for a good cause!

l'm going to be doing a triathlon of sorts on the bike, rower and ski erg (as per the pic below). I start with the following distances to complete: 120km bike, 60km ski and 60km row. I need people to help shave some kms off these totals by doing 1km or more on either bike, ski or rower (or all of them!) and donating some $$ to either of the causes I'm raising money for.

The distance you do takes the equivalent off my total. So for example, if you do 2km on the bike, I have 118km to complete. Regardless of the amount of kms donated I’m going to do:

  • double marathon bike - 84.4km

  • marathon ski - 42.2km

  • marathon row - 42.2km

That’s going to be about 13 hours to do, ouch. If I don’t get enough kilometres donated, then I’ll have more to do! It’s already a big stretch target, so please help!

There are two ways to get involved:

  1. join me at BeFit Training in Double Bay* between 10am and 6pm on Saturday 6-Feb

  2. do it remotely (either on the day or week leading up to it). It can be done at your gym or outside for the bike/row. Then send a pic to show the distance done.

Whichever way you get involved, donations can be made via our donation portals on www.cyclingoz.com/donate.

Can you help? If you think you might be able to, please let me know by replying to this email or message me on 0437 626 004. If you find you can’t on the day, no worries, but it would be great to get an idea of how many people are coming along.

Prizes

For those joining me in Double Bay there are prizes to be had on the ski erg:

  • Fastest 1km – female

  • Fastest 1km – male

  • Fastest 10km – three person mixed team

Prizes include a selection of sports supplements generously donated by Australian Sports Nutrition, pictured below.

A quick shout out to my physio Andrew from BeFit Training Physio (pic below with me and Tara). As well as being an incredible physio who never fails to get me quickly back on the road, he and the team have donated their time to train me for the ride. It was Andrew who came up with the idea for this fundraiser. Although he thought I should paddle from Bondi to Double Bay before starting it. Ah yeah, no!

This is going to be a fun event and I'd love to you there. Let’s see how many kilometres we can collectively do!!

Many thanks
